Meet the superheroes of The LEGO Movie

screen-poster

Superheroic ensemble The Justice League assembles for The LEGO Movie, released on 14 February 2014.

Created by Gardner Fox, The Justice League first appeared in 1960 and is a team comprised of some of DC Comics' most famous superheroes. So let's meet some of them.

Batman (voiced by Will Arnett)

Canadian actor Arnett brings his gravelly voice to the role of the iconic Caped Crusader, who flies in to help central character Emmet (Chris Pratt) save The LEGO Universe. Arnett has much experience in voicing animated characters, having worked on Ice Age the Meltdown, Ratatouille and Monsters vs. Aliens.

Superman (voiced by Channing Tatum)

The granddaddy of all superheroes, not much is known about the role that Supes will play in The LEGO Movie. However, he does briefly appear in a hilarious TV spot where he attempts to gatecrash a Batman photoshoot! Given actor Channing Tatum's recent successful move into comedy with the likes of 21 Jump Street (and next year's sequel 22 Jump Street), we can't wait to see how he voices Superman.

Green Lantern (voiced by Jonah Hill)

Test pilot Hal Jordan is transformed into this masked hero when he's appointed by a dying alien to become the eponymous 'Green Lantern' - a member of the Intergalactic Police Force. Played by Ryan Reynolds in the 2011 film of the same name, in The LEGO Movie Jordan is voiced by Superbad and This Is the End star Hill.

Wonder Woman (voiced by Cobie Smulders)

There's no mistaking this butt-kicking female superhero with her wavy hair, red costume and gold tiara. Voiced by Avengers actress Smulders, Wonder Woman handily has an invisible jet to aid Emmet in his journey - although, as we see in the film's trailer, it doesn't last very long!
