In five words... The Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer

screen-poster

The Lone Ranger is the mega-budget re-imagining of the iconic American western hero. The Social Network's Armie Hammer dons the white hat and mask to play justice-seeking lawman John Reid, and Johnny Depp plays his Native American sidekick Tonto.

The film is gathering more momentum than an American locomotive as it gears up towards its UK release on 9 August. So as a little teaser, here are five words that we think describe Armie Hammer. Click here to book your tickets for The Lone Ranger.

RELATABLE

"It’s nice to see an action hero who struggles with his own morality. I think it makes it much more relatable than just an unstoppable force."

FUN

"I learned to fire two pistols simultaneously, while riding a horse through a train. It was more fun than anything else. I think everybody got a little banged up every day. But that was all part of the fun. Nothing life-threatening."

COLLABORATIVE

"To get to be a part of it, to get to work with that team and make a movie with those guys, it was great, mostly because they were just so inclusionary. There was never a time when they were like, “Oh, no, no, new kid. We gotta go figure this thing out.” It was always all of us together."

FOCUS

"It felt like here I was walking on a tightrope of “This is my character. This is what I actually have control of in this movie. How I say this…. How I stand… How I do this… How I react to this person,” that kind of thing. As soon as you start getting a little off on this side or that side, it’s a slippery slope about “Oh, well this thing that I have no control over…” then you stop focusing on what you have to do, so I try to stay focused."

REBELLIOUS

"Maybe it’s because I’m still so young, I feel kind of like a rebellious teenager where when someone is like “We’re making a family movie.” That’s the moment, when someone says that, that I want to cuss the most."
