Operation Mincemeat: discover the Cineworld Unlimited reactions from our screening

Operation Mincemeat is the new World War II drama that recounts one of the most extraordinary Allied missions of the entire conflict.

In order to launch a covert Allied invasion of Axis-occupied Sicily, a squad of commanders and intelligence officers (including a pre-James Bond Ian Fleming) came up with a cunning ruse. They would place apparently top-secret papers on an anonymous dead body and float the corpse off the coast of fascist-occupied Spain, knowing that the news would eventually get back to Adolf Hitler and the Nazi high command.

The overall plan: divert Axis troops from Sicily to Greece, facilitating an invasion, and eventual liberation, of the former. The movie adapts Ben Macintyre's book of the same name and showcases a powerhouse British cast, led by Colin Firth in the role of Operation Mincemeat's lead officer, Ewen Montagu.

The movie screened in advance for Cineworld Unlimited members and we've curated some of their reactions to get you primed for its release.

Operation Mincemeat is released in the UK on 15th April. If you missed last night's screening, then don't forget about our next one: The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which screens in advance on 22nd April.

The movie showcases Nicolas Cage in a deliriously funny and deeply meta reflection of his long-running and unforgettable career. Which 'Nick Cage' persona will he be compelled to adopt in order to save his wife and child from a deranged fan? Find out by watching the film.
