Furiosa director George Miller can't believe 4DX is real

Director George Miller is no mere filmmaker, he's a legend of the cinema industry with more than 50 years experience to his name. Miller initiated the classic Mad Max franchise back in 1979 and we're now presented with the latest spectacular instalment of the carnage-riven, post-apocalyptic series.

The film is Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and it acts as a prequel to Miller's scorchingly exciting Mad Max: Fury Road from 2015. Anya Taylor-Joy portrays the younger Furiosa whose steely determination powers her through the desperate Wasteland battle with her nemesis Dementus (a roaringly OTT Chris Hemsworth).

As one would expect, most of the film's stunts are achieved practically, which enhances the sense of danger, and the world is painted on an epic scale as we discover unseen corners of this dangerous futuristic world. Furiosa is a movie that demands a big-screen presentation, and its physical impact is further augmented by motion-sensory 4DX.

Exclusive to Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland, 4DX utilises wind, rain and scent effects in line with moving seats to bring every crunchy Mad Max collision to life. As it turns out, George Miller had never heard of 4DX before we brought it up to him in our behind-the-scenes interview. As you can see from the video, he's now fully onboard with the rubber-burning, seat-shaking Mad Max overload promised by 4DX, and he wants fans to experience the film in the format.
