Cineworld Middlesbrough celebrates its 21st birthday with free goodies and special offers

Party poppers at the ready – there's a very special celebration happening in the North East this weekend as Cineworld Middlesbrough turns 21!

The cinema, which is located in the town's Leisure Park, has been hugely popular with movie lovers since it opened in 2001. And now, to say a big thank you to customers, Cineworld is hosting a birthday event at the complex, complete with family activities and special promotions.

This Saturday (18 June), local film fans will be invited to attend the party in the foyer at Cineworld Middlesbrough, where they'll get to mingle with Star Wars cosplayers, grab a photo under the balloon arches, enter movie-related competitions and get their hands on some free stuff!

On top of all this, the cinema will be running a couple of very special Unlimited card offers throughout the day. In case you don't know, Cineworld's Unlimited card unlocks a world of benefits, including all-you-can-watch cinema, access to regular advance screenings, a 10% discount on snacks and drinks, plus money off meals at hundreds of restaurants nationwide.

To celebrate its 21st birthday, Cineworld Middlesbrough is giving new Unlimited card customers a 50% discount on the first month of their membership – all they have to do is use the code BIRTHDAY21 when they sign up. But existing customers won't miss out – they'll be able to grab a small box of popcorn absolutely free when they book a ticket for any screening on Saturday.

And right now, there are some truly epic movies to watch at Cineworld Middlesbrough (and, indeed, at all Cineworld cinemas across the UK). With the new Pixar release Lightyear, dinosaur blockbuster Jurassic World Dominion and Top Gun: Maverick all showing this weekend, this is one party you won't want to miss.

No one deserves to celebrate Cineworld Middlesbrough's milestone more than Darren Rodgers. He's been at the cinema right from the beginning, starting off as Operations Manager and later becoming General Manager. “It’s been a real pleasure to serve the community of Teesside over the last 21 years, and to see how the industry and technology have evolved over time to keep cinema at the forefront of entertainment,” he said.

“Cineworld Middlesbrough is now home to Teesside’s only 4DX screen, so why not come down and celebrate with us by enjoying one of the latest movies in this amazing new format. With stimulating effects such as water, wind, scent, strobe lighting and movement, it really takes the thrill factor to the next level."
