Mel Gibson returns to the big screen as an ex-con trying to save his daughter from a murderous drugs cartel. Ex-con Link (Mel Gibson) lives a quiet life in the Californian desert, making his living from a makeshift tattoo parlour he runs from his trailer. But his peaceful existence is threatened when his 16-year-old daughter, Lydia (Erin Moriarty), turns up. A drugs cartel is on her tail after she shot kingpin boyfriend, Jonah (Diego Luna). Now Link must defend his daughter from the violent gang, evading his parole to keep his daughter alive. Mel Gibson storms back on to the big screen for his first role in five years in Jean-François Richet’s (Assault on Precinct 13) violent thriller. Richet’s film has been compared to Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s movies, while critics have praised Gibson’s performance as a career best.
