Genius detective Hercule Poirot has his work cut out for him in the upcoming Agatha Christie thriller A Haunting in Venice. The movie is adapted from Christie's relatively unknown Gothic page-turner Hallowe'en Party with Kenneth Branagh once again doubling up as actor and director.
His Poirot is now retired and on vacation in irresistibly atmospheric Venice, the city of rippling canals and claustrophobic alleyways. However, he can't resist being pulled into another mystery when a medium convinces a bereaved mother that she can make contact with the woman's deceased child.
Before long, someone has been murdered and the Italianate walls are closing in. Is the culprit of this world? Or does the threat lie in the corporeal realm? With an all-star cast including Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Dornan (who starred in Branagh's acclaimed Belfast), Tina Fey and Kelly Reilly, there's no shortage of suspects to keep track of. Here are some new posters teasing the movie's brooding riddle.
Here's a brand-new featurette indicating the darkly teasing tone of the film, which is set to be further bolstered by the score from Joker's Hildur Guðnadóttir.
Are you brave enough to proceed and crack the mystery? A Haunting in Venice is released on September 15th.
