Children of the night are summoned to Cineworld this Halloween for the re-release of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Are you ready to be immersed all over again in Francis Ford Coppola's lavish, Gothic vision?
If such a silly question causes you to emerge in a vampire-like cackle, then we apologise. After all, how can horror fans possibly resist a brand new 4K restoration of what is possibly the definitive Dracula movie?
The Godfather director Coppola assembles an all-star cast for this romantic reinvention of Stoker's pioneering novel. Gary Oldman plays the wizened Count Dracula who is summoned from his Transvylanian hideaway to London to seek out the reincarnation of his lost love.
Winona Ryder plays the aforementioned Mina, who bears an uncanny resemblance to the former Count Dracul's ill-fated Elisabeta. Keanu Reeves, replete with a memorable accent, plays Mina's love Jonathan Harker who becomes incarcerated in Dracula's shadowy castle.
Anthony Hopkins portrays the infamous vampire hunter Van Helsing and the diverse cast also encompasses Sadie Frost, Tom Waits and Cary Elwes. Drenched in opulent style, nowhere more evident than Eiko Ishioka's Oscar-winning costumes, this is a feast of horror and emotion that gains added resonance and vibrancy from its new restoration.
Check out the 4K restoration trailer and prepare for the arrival of Bram Stoker's Dracula at Cineworld on October 10. You can book your tickets here – if you dare.
