In the words of Vin Diesel: it's time for one last ride. Fast and Furious 10 has been confirmed for release on April 7th 2023, following in the tire-treads of the most recent entry, F9: The Fast Saga.
Furious 9 defied pandemic expectations to ride away with more than $500 million at the global box office. You can't argue with that level of success, which is but one jigsaw piece in an automotive franchise that has cumulatively grossed upwards of $7 billion.
Of course, the term 'one last ride' in relation to Fast 10 is pretty loaded. It's already been confirmed that we'll be getting Fast 11 at some point in the future, although if that truly does turn out to be the last adventure for Dominic Toretto and his crew, we'll be a monkey's uncle.
Entertainment Weekly broke the news of the Fast 10 release date, and also signalled that Dwayne Johnson isn't likely to return. This is owing to his long-standing feud with Diesel, which began on the set of The Fate of the Furious, following which Johnson charted his own spin-off movie, Hobbs and Shaw, with Jason Statham.
It's "expected" that Diesel will return along with Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Chris Bridges, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez. Justin Lin is directing and both the 10th and 11th movies are being shot back to back.
