Despicable Me 4 unleashes super-sized Minions in the new trailer

Who's ready for more Minions in Despicable Me 4? You soon will be after watching the latest action-packed trailer, which includes superheroic Minions, super-sized Minions and lots more besides. There isn't too much of Steve Carell's Gru in the trailer, but did we mention there are Minions?

Carell's loveable villain and his oddball helpers have powered their way through three blockbusting Despicable Me films and two Minion-centric spin-offs. Illumination's latest family adventure again comes from longtime Despicable Me director Chris Renaud.

Will Ferrell, a regular collaborator with Carell, is the latest big name to join the Despicable Me family. He's joined by Modern Family star Sofia Vergara and the synopsis is as follows:

Gru (Carell), the world's favorite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League agent, returns for an exciting, bold new era of Minions mayhem, alongside his wife and fellow Anti-Villain League agent Lucy (Wiig), their three adopted girls —Margo (Cosgrove), Edith (Gaier) and Agnes (Polan)— and the newest member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. The family is forced to go on the run when they become targeted by escaped criminal Maxime Le Mal (Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Vergara).

Steve Coogan's Silas Ramsbottom is back (no sniggering in the back row) but really this is all about the Minions. Check out the trailer below and arm your shrinking rays in anticipation of Despicable Me 4. It's released on July 12th.
