Cat Person uses a potent mixture of black comedy and uncomfortable tension to expose the perils behind the world of contemporary online dating. The movie meshes its topical concerns with a talented young cast, led by Emilia Jones (Locke and Key), Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers) and Nicholas Braun (Succession), and the director is Susanna Fogel who was acclaimed for her screenplay for high school comedy Booksmart.
Cat Person has broken the record for the amount of Unlimited screenings in a given year and it played in advance for members earlier this week. We've rounded up a few of their responses.
really liked that - it could almost have been a prequel to Promising Young Woman, but the tone shifts from horror to drama to comedy amplified the minefield of dating, especially for women. difficult message to get across while still entertaining, but kudos to Susanna Fogel.

It was a good film overall and very interesting to see things from a woman's view of how they fear of how things may take an ugly turn opposed to how guys often fear that they're making a fool of themselves on a date. It's very well written & well acted. 8/10! Grade: B+! 😁😁😺😺

I enjoyed it. Very smartly done, bought home the difficulties of dating & the perils of miscommunication, loved the way it jumped between romance tropes and horror ones in an attempt to wrong foot the audience

Emilia Jones undoubtedly a star on the rise after this & CODA
Really enjoyed it. Some laughs, some relatable scenes, some twists and turns. It was a fun ride.

Actually loved the lack of chemistry and awkwardness initially especially with the exploration of their mindsets on the first date. Takes a turn in the second half. Emilia jones was superb. Everything just felt surface to begin with but it stepped up massively in the 2nd half.
