Avengers: Endgame has shattered box office records around the world, and has left us wondering about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Of course, as we now know, Endgame isn't the concluding chapter of phase three of the MCU. That honour falls to this July's release Spider-Man: Far From Home – and you can now book your Cineworld tickets.
Tom Holland is back as our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, who now expands his range with a school trip to Europe. While vacationing in London and Venice with the likes of Ned (Jacob Batalon) and MJ (Zendaya), Peter is tracked down and recruited by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). His mission: to fight the water and sand-based villains known as the Elementals, who are terrorising the continent.
But there's an added complication: en route, Spidey runs into Quentin Beck aka Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), a master of illusion and effects who appears to be battling the Elementals himself. Can Beck be trusted? Those who have read the comics will know he's one of Spider-Man's mortal enemies, so it remains to be seen how their big-screen relationship will play out.
Director Jon Watts returns to the MCU fold following 2017's triumphantly entertaining Spider-Man: Homecoming. And it allows an increasingly confident Holland to further cement his status as the best big screen Spider-Man so far. Of course, how the movie will allude to phase four of the MCU remains to be seen...
