Tenet in 4DX: everything you need to know

The wait is almost over: Christopher Nolan's Tenet arrives in the UK and Ireland on 26th August.

The movie is showing in a variety of formats: standard widescreen, IMAX and 4DX. We're here to talk about the last of those – scroll down for more information.

What is Tenet about?

Tenet is directed by The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar filmmaker Christopher Nolan. The mysterious, big-budget ($205 million) epic deals not in time-travel but 'time-inversion', and revolves around a race to save the world from a diabolical threat.

The excellent cast is headed up by BlacKkKlansman's John David Washington and The Lighthouse's Robert Pattinson. Also in the cast: Kenneth Branagh (Dunkirk), Elizabeth Debicki (Widows) and Michael Caine (The Prestige).

The movie has been shot using IMAX cameras by Interstellar and Dunkirk cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema. The production spanned a host of international locations, including London, Estonia and Mumbai, with a score from Black Panther Oscar winner Ludwig Goransson.

What is 4DX?

Experience extreme sensory cinema with 4DX, a Cineworld exclusive in the UK and Ireland. With stimulating effects like water, wind, scent and strobe lighting, that thrill you in your moving seat. Fun on your own, better with friends – 4DX is Cineworld’s most exhilarating way to watch a film.

With its onslaught of arresting IMAX visuals and action set-pieces, including fights filmed both forwards and backwards, Tenet in 4DX promises to make you feel the impact of 'time-inversion'. Whatever that is.

When is Tenet released?

Tenet is released in Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland on 26th August.
