Sunshine on Leith, playwright Stephen Greenhorn’s unlikely merging of The Proclaimers and a story of returning Afghanistan War veterans, yielded massive success on the stage.
Now British institution Dexter Fletcher has set about bringing Greenhorn’s hit work to the screen, complete with an outstanding British cast including Peter Mullan, Jane Horrocks and Jason Flemyng. And we're delighted to bring you the exclusive trailer!
“It’s about a couple of guys who come home from the war,” Fletcher explains, “and their loves and their lives… There are a good few tunes in there that people are going to know and get behind.”
Given Fletcher’s directorial debut was the terrific but much more low-key Wild Bill, it’s safe to say he’s not resting on his laurels! “I’ve challenged myself a bit,” he adds.
