Eternals: new character posters and featurette for Marvel's latest

A new squadron of Marvel heroes makes its debut in the forthcoming Eternals. The film, directed by Nomadland Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao, introduces the titular Eternals, ancient beings sent to safeguard humanity from the diabolical Deviants.

The cosmic fantasy is poised to broaden the parameters of Marvel Phase Four, whisking us from primordial mankind through a litany of natural disasters to the present day, which brings us to the aftermath of Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his universe-obliterating 'snap'.

It turns out the Eternals have been instructed by their creators, the Celestials, not to interfere in mankind's affairs unless Deviants are involved, which accounts for their absence during key moments of human suffering – including Thanos' rampage. It promises an intriguing moral dilemma laced with the grace notes of humour and spectacular action that we've come to expect from Marvel, starting with the Deviants' unexpected return to Earth after thousands of years.

Talking of spectacular, Eternals boasts one of the best ensembles of any Marvel movie. Richard Madden (Bodyguard), Salma Hayek (Frida) and Angelina Jolie (Maleficent) join Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk), Brian Tyree Henry (Widows), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians) and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones). Here's a clutch of new posters teasing the actors and their characters.

And as if that wasn't enough, here's a brand new featurette taking you behind the scenes of Eternals.

Eternals is released in Cineworld cinemas on 5th November.
