Unlimited members share their reactions to A Simple Favour

Last night saw our Unlimited screening of blackly comic thriller A Simple Favour, directed by Paul Feig and starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively.

The director of hit comedies including Bridesmaids and Spy swaps slapstick for something sleazier and creepier in this adaptation of Darcey Bell's novel. Kendrick stars as vlogger Stephanie whose investigation into the disappearance of her best friend Emily (Lively) uncovers all kinds of skeletons in the closet.

So what's the response from Unlimited members? We'll start with this from Sir Daniel Mumford.

Spidey Swims says the multitude of twists and turns will keep viewers guessing.

Victoria praises the performances of Kendrick and Lively.

Will Marshall says the movie vastly exceeded his expectations and then some.

Henry Peters loved the movie – and is trying very hard not to give away spoilers.

On the other hand, Alex says the movie compares unfavourably with another missing person's movie.

And Josh Trew has mixed thoughts on the movie's tone and pacing.

Were you at last night's screening? If so, tweet us your responses @Cineworld and using #CineworldUnlimited. And for those who did attend, be sure to watch A Simple Favour again when it's released in Cineworld on 20th September.

And don't forget about your final Unlimited screening this September: A Star Is Born, which screens in advance on 27th September. Bradley Cooper directs this critically acclaimed drama, co-starring alongside Lady Gaga in a sensitive, soulful romance that's already wowed the critics at the Venice and Toronto film festivals. Check out the trailer and we look forward to seeing you there.
