He's quite possibly Bollywood's most celebrated and lauded film composer. He's successfully crossed over into Hollywood, nabbing Oscars for Danny Boyle's triumphant smash hits Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours. And his remarkable life is now the subject of a compelling new documentary called Jai Ho.
He is A.R. Rahman – and you can see Jai Ho exclusively at Cineworld at the O2, Greenwich during its first-ever UK screening. Showing on Saturday 15th August at 4pm, the film explores the beginnings of the legendary composer's career, tracing his rise to musical super-stardom.
This one-off screening will be introduced by BBC presenters Tommy Sandhu and Noreen Khan and is showing as part of Rahman's sensational live greatest hits show at the O2. Check out the trailer below.
Also on the day: BBC DJs will be at The Piazza from 2pm, with Panjabi Hit Squad, followed by a DJ set from Yasser at 4pm. There are also free activities at Brooklyn Bowl from midday, Asian street food and much more.
