Channing Tatum to reunite with Phil Lord and Chris Miller for monster movie

It's been six and a half years since Channing Tatum, working in collaboration with directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, brought us comedy gold in 22 Jump Street. It was the sequel to surprisingly entertaining TV show reboot 21 Jump Street, nicely satirising the apparent redundancy of most sequels in deliriously meta and hilarious fashion.

Best scene? It has to be the moment where Tatum's goofy cop Jenko discovers that his partner Schmidt (Jonah Hill) has slept with the daughter of their ball-busting police captain Dickson (a scene-stealing Ice Cube). Credit to Lord and Miller for tapping into a side of Tatum's talents that we'd never seen before – no longer just a stoic lunk, he clearly had comedic chops to spare. (Warning: strong language in the following clip.)

So, it's clearly good news that Tatum, Lord and Miller are set to reunite again – only this time on a very different kind of movie.
