This sensitive and achingly romantic adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's celebrated novel casts Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara as two 1950s women who fall in love across the social divide. Beautifully designed and superbly acted, it's a vivid evocation of a romance flying in the face of social convention.
