Has Borat 2 been filmed?

A sequel to the 2006 box-office hit Borat is on its way, according to reports. In some of the ‘nicest’ news of the year, Sacha Baron Cohen is said to be bringing back his most popular character for another side-splitting jaunt at the expense of his unsuspecting American interviewees.

Not only has Cohen reportedly shot the follow-up to the riotous mockumentary – full title Borat! Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan – but according to Collider, the results have already been privately screened. This news seems to confirm the rumours that circulated earlier this year when footage emerged on social media of Cohen being filmed while dressed as the intrepid Kazakh reporter (see clip below).

Though details are still sketchy, Collider reports that the film will find the titular anti-hero having to disguise himself in order to interview people, having grown so popular on the back of the 2006 smash-hit.

It is not known which studio is behind the film or when it will be released.
