New Avengers: Age of Ultron comic to tie in with release of Joss Whedon's film

In an example of art imitating life, superhero sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron is to get its very own Marvel spin-off comic called 'Ultron Forever'. Here's a glimpse at the artwork.

Joss Whedon's film, the follow-up to his 2012 mega-hit Avengers Assemble, reunites Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) Captain America (Chris Evans) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) in their battle against villainous artificial intelligence Ultron (voiced by James Spader).

According to Digital Spy, Ultron Forever is inspired by a past comic, one which hinted at a dystopian future ruled by Ultron. Esteemed writer Al Ewing, best known for his work with comic book powerhouse 2000 AD, will be collaborating with artist Alan Davis.

No release date is confirmed yet but the story is said to be playing out across three storylines: Avengers: Ultron Forever, New Avengers: Ultron Forever and Uncanny Avengers: Ultron Forever.

What do you think – will you be trooping to the shops to buy this? And do you think Evans' portrayal of Cappy would be made even better by the presence of the mullet featured in the image above?

Avengers: Age of Ultron is released on 24th April 2015.
