BBC Children in Need

We’re launching our 2021 BBC Children in Need Campaign!

Cineworld are proudly calling “Action” on our 6th year of partnership with BBC Children in Need. BBC Children in Need’s mission is to help ensure every child in the UK is safe, happy, secure and has the opportunities they need to reach their potential. Currently the charity is funding 3,900 local charities and projects which directly support children and young people in communities right across the UK. In partnering with this fantastic charity we believe that together we can make a difference to disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

What we’ve been doing

Our All Star cast of staff will be channelling their favourite action heroes this autumn. They will go above and beyond to raise blockbusting totals at every one of our cinemas*.

Just like the superheroes on the silver screen they’ve conquered assault courses, hiked miles, scaled mountains, leaped out of airplanes and even dove into the ocean in search of sharks. They’ve shaved their heads, baked up a storm, and even cycled the whole breadth of the country from the (dis)comfort of their foyers. Like all true heroes we show no sign of stopping; raising over £2m in our first five years of partnership.

How you can get Involved

We’ve not forgotten our loyal customers. They are a variety of ways you will be able to get involved with our in cinema fundraising this year. Whether it’s texting to donate from the comfort of your cinema seat before your film starts, rounding up your transaction to the nearest pound at our concession stands or picking up a lovely fluffy set of Pudsey ears at the till. Together we can raise as much money as possible for BBC Children in Need.

We’ll be announcing our total during the show on the BBC Children in Need Appeal Night on Friday 19th November. Until then we hope you can agree that BBC Children in Need and Cineworld is a partnership as sweet as our popcorn.

Cineworld Cinemas and EOne have pledged to dedicate all proceeds from ticket sales to our advance screening of Clifford The Big Red Dog on Sunday December 5, to Children in Need. For your chance to see the film first and donate to Children in Need at the same time, book your tickets here.

When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mum (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big! Released in cinemas Friday December 10.
