When taking on the lead role in drama Spencer, Kristen Stewart faced a formidable challenge: embody the spirit and fortitude of the ‘People’s Princess’, Diana Spencer.
Stewart’s uncanny transformation into the late, lamented Princess Diana powers the movie, which is directed by acclaimed Jackie filmmaker Pablo Larrain. Spencer delves into the turbulent, pivotal period in Diana’s life when her marriage to Prince Charles started to collapse in full view of the British media circus. Diana is forced to endure a nightmarish, alienating Christmas at Sandringham Palace where all the latent Royal tensions come bubbling to the surface.
