Cineworld Newcastle's extensive two-year refurbishment at The Gate concludes this March – and tickets are now on sale for ScreenX.

With a combination of 4DX, Superscreen and ScreenX under one roof, it promises an exciting and revolutionary new experience for Cineworlders. Check out your newly refurbished cinema in the following video.

What is 4DX?

4DX opened at Cineworld Newcastle in December 2017 and provides a revolutionary cinematic experience that stimulates all five senses. This includes high-tech motion seats and special effects including wind, fog, lightning, bubbles, water, rain and scents, in both 2D and 3D formats. These effects work in perfect synchronicity with the action on screen – creating the most unmissable and exhilarating cinematic experience yet.

What is Superscreen?

Superscreen's breathtaking multidimensional sound is powered by epic Dolby Atmos speakers will make you feel like you’re right there in the film. Having opened in December 2017, Superscreen's combination of state-of-the-art projection and huge screens means every second is a beauty to behold.

What else has been upgraded at Cineworld Newcastle?

Cineworld Newcastle has also updated all standard auditoriums with new seats and bigger screens, revamped the foyer and concession stands, refurbished restrooms and opened a brand new Starbucks café. Plus, ScreenX will open this March.

What is ScreenX?

ScreenX is the world’s first multi-projection theatre technology that provides moviegoers with a 270-degree panoramic viewing experience by expanding the screen onto the side walls of the auditorium. It crafts a fully immersive experience that pulls you into the world of your favourite films like nothing before.
