Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick’s family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life. Not only is he the scion of one of the country’s wealthiest families, but also one of its most sought-after bachelors. Being on Nick’s arm puts a target on Rachel’s back, with jealous socialites and, worse, Nick’s own disapproving mother (Michelle Yeoh) taking aim. It soon becomes clear that the only thing crazier than love is family, in this funny and romantic story sure to ring true for audiences everywhere. “Crazy Rich Asians” features an international cast of stars, led by Constance Wu (“Fresh Off the Boat”), Gemma Chan (“Humans”), Lisa Lu (“2012”), and Awkwafina (“Ocean’s 8,” “Neighbors 2”), with Ken Jeong (the “Hangover” films”) and Michelle Yeoh (“Star Trek: Discovery,” “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”). What's the story? Couldn't get enough of this summer's runaway Abba sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again? Then we've got news that's bound to get you jiving in the aisles again, because the movie returns to Cineworld for our sing-along screenings on Monday 16th September. As if you needed reminding, this follow-up to the blockbusting 2008 stage musical adaptation introduces us to a younger version of Meryl Streep's Donna, played by a vivacious Lily James. To the sound of a multitude of Abba classics, both familiar ('Dancing Queen') and less so ('When I Kissed the Teacher', 'My Love, My Life'), we find out how Donna first came to the Greek island and met her fabled man after midnight. Returnees Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Starsgard, Colin Firth, Julie Walters and Christine Baranski are joined by a generation of newcomers including Jeremy Irvine, Hugh Skinner, Josh Dylan, Jessica Keenan Wynn and Alexa Davies. Andy Garcia also joins and there's a showstopping Cher cameo that redefines the Abba hit, 'Fernando'.

Australian Ballet 2018: The Merry Widow (Thursday 20th September, 8pm)

What's the story? Irresistibly frothy and lavishly theatrical, The Merry Widow has enough tangled affairs, narrow misses and jealous lovers to fuel a French farce. Based on the beloved operetta, this lively tale is set in the ballrooms and salons of Belle Epoque Paris and is dressed magnificently in velvets, silks, spangles and feathers. Created especially for The Australian Ballet, The Merry Widow is a laugh-along favourite with hum-along melodies and its heart on its sleeve.
