Bank holiday movies in Cineworld

Trumpet fanfare, please. For the first time this year, we at Cineworld can offer you a host of movies to enjoy this coming bank holiday Monday.

1. Tenet

Inception filmmaker Christopher Nolan returns with his head-scrambling latest: a mega-budget, world-spanning story of 'time-inversion' with an all-star cast. BlacKkKlansman's John David Washington pairs with Robert Pattinson for 'James Bond goes backwards' espionage thriller, with Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh and Michael Caine also featuring.

2. The New Mutants

Thrills of a different variety are on offer in this X-Men spin-off, which promises to fuse horror with the teen stylings of John Hughes. Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams and Charlie Heaton are among the young mutants vying to escape from a mysterious facility, with The Fault in our Stars' Josh Boone at the helm.

3. Babyteeth

If you're after something less effects-led and more character-driven, you can't go wrong with this quirky Aussie indie. Little Women's Eliza Scanlen stars as a critically ill teenager whose desire for romance and independence clashes with the wishes of her parents (Rogue One's Ben Mendelsohn and The Bababook's Essie Davis).

4. Pinocchio

The classic fairy tale of the wooden boy invested with life gets a new varnish from director Matteo Garrone (Tale of Tales). Pinocchio returns to his Italian-language roots in this sumptuously staged, live-action take on the story, with Life is Beautiful's Robert Begnini playing the kindly Gepetto.

5. Unhinged

Gladiator star Russell Crowe goes postal in this lean, mean road-rage thriller. When Crowe's angsty loner is cut off at the lights by a stressed single mother (Caren Pistorius), it sets in motion a terrifying chain of violence and retribution.

6. The Karate Kid (re-release)

Nostalgics, rejoice. We're hosting the 36th-anniversary re-issue of the Ralph Macchio classic, in which an outsider kid learns the value of karate and how to stand up to the local bullies. From Pat Morita's unforgettable turn as mentor Mr. Miyagi to the oft-quoted lines ("wax on, wax off"), this is an eighties favourite that you don't want to miss on the big screen.

7. Dirty Dancing (re-release)

Talking of eighties classics, here's another one that proudly returns to Cineworld screens. Have the time of your life as Patrick Swayze takes Jennifer Grey for a spin in this blockbusting romantic drama, whose soundtrack has been a fixture of wedding nights ever since.
