Handsomely staged Malayalam drama about a group of friends who try to save an old cinema. Vinayan (Kunchacko Boban) works in the historic Sreedevi Talkies cinema, which is owned by his godfather, Madhavan Nair (Renji Panicker). But now the venerable picture palace faces closure and it's up to the two men to save it. Matters are complicated by Madhavan Nair's old rival Bhagavan (Suresh Krishna), who sees an opportunity to seize control. The story takes an unexpected turn when Vinayan falls for Bhagavan's daughter, Sreedevi (Shamili). First-time writer-director Rishi Sivakumar's classically styled entertainer is beautifully shot by cinematographer Kunjunni S Kumar. It's also filled with terrific dance numbers, set to fabulously catchy music by Soraj S. Kurup. Kunchacko Boban contributes a magnetic performance in the lead role, while female lead Shamili's return to cinema after a long sabbatical has provoked plenty of excitement among fans who are eager to see her on screen again.
