Suriya's courageous cop takes on another villain in this globe-trotting sequel to the Tamil action-masala hit. Back in 2010, Hari's hugely successful action-masala film 'Singam' introduced respected, honest smalltown police officer Durai Singam (Suriya) and his bumbling comic sidekick Yettu Erimalai (Vivek). We saw him fall for the lovely Kavya (Anushka Shetty) and succeed in defeating a bigshot Chennai criminal. The film ended with Durai Singam being rewarded with an important undercover role. 'Singam II' continues the story, beginning in the Ramnad district of Southern India. Our indefatigable hero notices a series of strange activities that seem to hint at a conspiracy. He embarks on an investigation that eventually leads to the colourful streets of South Africa and a sinister new bad guy (Danny Sapani). Most of the cast of the original film reprise their roles in this action-packed sequel, which races towards a memorable climax. Rahman, Mukesh Rishi and Santhanam also join the franchise.
