Hot screen couple Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper reunite for this powerful Depression-era drama. Recently married couple George (Bradley Cooper) and Serena Pemberton (Jennifer Lawrence) relocate from Boston to the mountains of rural North Carolina in 1929. Their plan is to build a timber empire. The work is arduous and the environment tough. Greedy, manipulative Serena thrives in this male world, overseeing the workforce, hunting rattlesnakes and even saving a man's life in the wilderness. But when she discovers that she cannot bear children, she sets out to murder the mother of George's illegitimate child from a previous relationship! Cooper and Lawrence starred together in both 'Silver Linings Playbook' (for which Lawrence won a Best Actress Oscar) and 'American Hustle'. Now this movie dream team join forces once again for Oscar-winner Susanne Bier's adaptation of Ron Rash's much-acclaimed novel. The superb supporting cast includes Rhys Ifans and Toby Jones.
