An inspirational drama based on life of influential Christian music star Rich Mullins. Rich Mullins (Michael Koch) is raised on an Indiana farm by his callous father John (Mel Fair), who proves impossible to please. Emotionally scarred by this difficult childhood, Rich enrols at Cincinnati Bible College to pursue his twin loves of music and Christianity. Here he befriends Sam (David Schultz), with whom he forms a band. Such is his talent that it's not long before his songwriting skills attract the attention of some of the biggest names in Christian music, including Amy Grant (Amy Schultz). But Rich is dissatisfied by the emptiness of fame and opts instead to pursue his spiritual quest on a Navajo reservation. This is a powerful and moving biopic of the celebrated writer of the worship song 'Our God is an Awesome God'. Writer/director David Schultz is careful not to sanitise his portrait of this complex, troubled man.
