Cult filmmaker Jim Jarmusch's absorbing and charming drama about a bus driving poet. Paterson (Adam Driver) is a bus driver who shares his name with his run-down home town of Paterson, New Jersey. His life consists of an orderly routine. Rising each morning just after 6am, he takes a leisurely walk to work and drives his route, with a midday break for lunch. Paterson also eavesdrops on his passengers and carefully observes the world around him, which he uses as inspiration for the poetry he jots down in his notebook. In the evening, he takes his bulldog Marvin for a walk, pausing for a single beer at a local bar. His wife Laura (Golshifteh Farahani), meanwhile, leads an amazingly busy and creative life. Unfolding over the course of a week, idiosyncratic veteran indie writer/director Jim Jarmusch's unhurried drama is a lovely, superbly acted, low-key character study that finds beauty in the simple pleasures of everyday life.
