Jennifer Aniston delivers a revelatory performance in this powerful drama of love, loss and pain. Claire Simmons (Jennifer Aniston) seems hard to love, or even like. She's driven away her husband and all her friends. She's also alienated members of her touchy-feely chronic pain support group with her sarcastic response to the suicide of fellow sufferer Nina (Anna Kendrick). The only person who remains in her life is paid housekeeper Silvana (Adrianna Barraza). But just as Claire's life seems to hold no further meaning, Nina starts to appear to her in her dreams and drug-fuelled hallucinations. This drives her to contact the dead woman's bereaved husband, Roy (Sam Worthington), with unexpected consequences. 'Beastly' director Daniel Barnz's moving, often blackly comic drama of heartbreak, addiction and moving on gives Jennifer Aniston the opportunity to redefine her career with a fearless, vanity-free, Golden Globe-nominated performance. Watch out for the great William H. Macy in a key supporting role.
