The LEGO Movie 2 may be behind us, but another popular children's toy is getting the big screen treatment this year.

Playmobil: The Movie is released in August and is based on the beloved German 'klicky' toys that formed the basis of many a childhood. It's directed by longstanding Disney veteran Lino DiSalvo, Head of Animation on the studio's blockbusting Frozen, and features an A-list voice cast.

The Witch, Split and Glass star Anya Taylor-Joy voices Playmobil character Marla, who has long sought to break free from her rigid lifestyle. And when her brother Charlie (Annabelle and Lights Out actor Gabriel Bateman) disappears, she's plunged into a sweeping adventure.

Fortunately she's got help from suave super-spy Rex Dasher, voiced by Harry Potter himself Daniel Radcliffe. Additional voice support from music comes from stars Meghan Trainor and Adam Lambert, both of whom contribute original songs to the movie.

Playmobil: The Movie is released on 9th August.
