Meet Chris, August's Unlimited Fan of the Month!

screen-poster

Congratulations to our latest Unlimited fan of the month - the lovely Chris Greensted! As it's been a year since we launched our Unlimited Fan of the Month, we've decided to mix things up a bit with some brand new questions! Find out what the first film was that Chris saw at the cinema and how many films he has managed to squeeze into a day, week and month below! Here's his Unlimited story:

1. Which Cineworld do you consider your local?

Crawley Cineworld is my local, as it is only a short walk away from work and home. It's at the leisure park so there's plenty of places to eat there, most of which let me use my Unlimited discount! The cinema was refitted last year and I love the glittery floor and huge screens advertising upcoming films. The newer seats are incredibly comfortable too! Perfect for those Fridays when I spend my entire day off work dashing from film to film!

2. When did you sign up to Cineworld Unlimited?

I signed up a year ago and am currently waiting for my black card upgrade to arrive! Cineworld told me that so far I've saved an insane £517.96!! Definitely the best thing I've ever signed up for!

3. What made you decide to sign up to Unlimited?

Several friends had Unlimited cards, so I decided to get one so I could go to the cinema with them. I soon got hooked to the freedom of unlimited films and ended up spending pretty much every day off from work in the cinema watching 2/3 films per day!

4. Do you have an Unlimited buddy you go to the cinema with?

On Friday evenings, after work, a small group of my friends (Cat, Emma & Mandeep) usually meet up to see the latest release. It was thanks to them that I signed up! I also try to go once a week with my boyfriend for a nice date night!

5.  What’s the first film you saw at the cinema?

Oh gosh, that's going back a long time! I don't know if I can remember. One of the earliest films I remember seeing at the cinema was Jurassic Park in 1993 when I was about five and half years old! I was obsessed with dinosaurs as a child and seeing them come to life on screen was absolutely incredible! The music still gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it, and seeing all the nods to the original film in Jurassic World was awesome!

6.  What’s your favourite must-have cinema snack? Do you have a cinema snack hack?

I love the Tango Ice Blasts, especially mixing the blue and pink ones! Some of the staff in the Crawley Cineworld are expert mixers and create proper works of art out of flavoured ice!

7.  What’s your absolute favourite part about going to the cinema?

Discovering a new film which completely blows me away when I wasn't expecting it. Films which have done that for me this year have included Jackie, A Monster Calls and My Cousin Rachel. Probably the biggest surprises were Raw and The Handmaiden! I've never really watched many foreign language films, but gave those both a try and was enthralled by them. The Handmaiden in particular was absolutely stunning!

8.  What’s the most number of films you’ve watched at the cinema in one day/week/month?

The most I've seen in a day is three, which I've done several times on my day off from work. One of my favourite triple bills was Time of Their Lives, followed by Lego Batman and then Kong: Skull Island in 4DX back in March. I like to mix my films up quite a bit! In a week, the most I've seen is five (Rogue One, Gold, Manchester By the Sea, Rings, Hidden Figures) and in a month I think it is 15! Hoping to beat some of those records before the end of the year, maybe even trying to see a film a day for a month?!

9.  What do you love most about being an Unlimited member?

The freedom to see as many films as I want to and to be able to take a chance on films I'd not have seen otherwise. As a result, I've discovered new genres and films which I'd never have seen AND I've saved so much money that it's been the best investment I've ever made!
