We're just under two weeks away from the release of Thor: Ragnarok (remember – you can book your tickets here) – and the first responses have zapped online.
The glorious news is that critics have gone gaga for Taika Waititi's Thor instalment, praising its zany humour and retro 80s vibe. There are no full reviews yet owing to the press embargo but here are a selection of tweets from some of those who've seen it.
Collider's editor-in-chief says if you loved Waititi's other movies, What We Do In the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, this new blockbuster is bound to win you over.
Entertainment journalist David Daniel says the movie rivals Guardians of the Galaxy for oddball humour (say what??) and that Mark Mothersbaugh's score is a blast.
#ThorRagnarok: a goofy good time. Easily the funniest non-Guardians MCU flick – EVERYONE in it is funny. Great music (Mothersbaugh), fights.— David Daniel (@CNNLADavid) October 9, 2017
Yahoo's Kevin Polowy is another critic who complements Marvel for letting Waititi loose on their universe. Are we about to get the weirdest and funniest film yet? It sounds like it.
THOR RAGNAROK is hilarious & weird & offbeat & retro & sublime. Love how Marvel let Taika Waititi make a movie that's Waititi-ish as hell.— Kevin Polowy (@djkevlar) October 9, 2017
Critic Germain Lussier says there's one particular standout performance...
Thor: Ragnarok is just plain fun. It's hilarious from start to finish with quirky performances & exciting action. Tessa Thompson is the MVP. pic.twitter.com/7GyYG4IZZ5— Germain Lussier (@GermainLussier) October 9, 2017
Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's only one person we really want to know about – this is from Ryan Pearson telling us what we want to hear.
Jeff Goldblum gets to be Jeff Goldblum in Thor Ragnarok in a way that will very much please Goldblum fans the world over— Ryan Pearson (@ryanwrd) October 9, 2017
Well, there you have it. Now it's time to book your tickets for Thor: Ragnarok and get ready for the movie's release on 24th October.
