The new trailer is here for Fast and Furious 8. Here are 5 things we noticed!

screen-poster

Since 2001, the Fast franchise has been thrilling us with jaw-dropping car stunts and out-of-this-world action sequences. Now, the trailer has landed for the EIGHTH film in the tyre-burning film series and it looks like a doozy! Here are five things we noticed…!

The late Paul Walker is still in there

Check out 0.54 and there’s a picture of the late Paul Walker, as Fast veteran Brian O'Conner. This is the first Fast film to be made after Walker’s death in 2013, and it’s a poignant reminder that the actor, and the character, is no longer with us.

Charlize Theron really is in it!

We’d read the reports, but it was difficult to really believe them. Charlize Theron is really IS in a Fast film! Here, the blonde-locked beauty plays Cipher, a criminal who manages to recruit Dom into working against his allies.

A wrecking ball!

The challenge every Fast film has is to give us something we’ve never seen before, and it’s fair to say we’ve never seen a giant wrecking ball tearing through a line of cars. Proof that this series hasn’t lost its ability to wow us with new stunts!

Burning rubber

Check out 1.27 for some LITERAL burning rubber!

Welcome Kurt Russell

Veteran actor Kurt Russell (looking incredibly well-worn for 65!) returns as Frank Petty, the leader of a covert ops team who aided Dom and his team in taking down Shaw in Abu Dhabi. According to sources, Petty will be a recurring character in the series. He’s certainly a big presence in the trailer, suggesting his role here won’t be a small one.

Fast and Furious 8
speeds into Cineworld on 14 April.
