Last night saw our Unlimited advance screening of George Clooney's black comedy Suburbicon starring Matt Damon, so what did our preview audiences make of it? One thing's for sure, the movie has split opinion right down the middle.
Let's start with the positives – here's what Martin says.
Started off slow then built up to something quite dark and wonderful. Thumbs up overall!— Martin (@MartTweetsStuff) November 7, 2017
Alan meanwhile is another person who was won over.
Loved it. Brilliantly written and acted. Lots of twists and a great sub plot in the background.— Alan Smith (@luckyal65) November 7, 2017
Brian says mixed reviews be damned – he enjoyed it.
Not sure of others expectations. Thought it was excellent. A proper dark comedy. #Suburbicon— Brian Hopcroft (@brian_hop) November 7, 2017
And Amanda says Oscar Isaac steals the show.
Entertaining and darkly comical. Needs more Oscar Isaac. The world needs more Oscar Isaac. I’m off to watch Inside Llewyn Davis, again.— Amanda Stuart (@MandyLouStu) November 7, 2017
Needless to say the movie's dark tone didn't win over everyone – Max says the trailers were misleading.
Nothing like how the trailers depicted it, I was a little disappointed to be honest.— Max P. Bakerdragon (@CaptainKindling) November 7, 2017
Paul expected more given the calibre of those involved.
Wasn’t what I had hoped for from the trailers and the fact Clooney, Damon and Coen Brothers were involved. 6/10 for me #CineworldUnlimited— Paul Clarkson (@paulymikec) November 7, 2017
And MJ confesses she was disappointed by Clooney's latest.
atrocious! I left part way through, it was so bland and I couldn't get into it or enjoy it at all :/— mj (@cursedchildlwt) November 8, 2017
