We're still awaiting the trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, but the newly unveiled synopsis teases a few nuggets of info.
Directed by Ron Howard, the movie will act as an origin story for our favourite space smuggler. Alden Ehrenreich follows in Harrison Ford's footsteps as young Han Solo, while Donald Glover plays Lando Calrissian (previously embodied by Billy Dee Williams). Here's the official word:
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course for one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.
We appreciate that doesn't give a massive amount away, but who could resist the mentions of the Millennium Falcon, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian? If you're experiencing withdrawal symptoms after having watched The Last Jedi multiple times, then this is the Star Wars pick-me-up you've been looking for.
The Disney-Lucasfilm production co-stars Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Joonas Suotamo (as Chewie), Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thandie Newton and Paul Bettany. Solo: A Star Wars Story is released on 25th May.
