Exclusive interview: Selma director Ava DuVernay on "making the right film for the right time"

Oscar nominated drama Selma is out in Cineworld this Friday. The film re-enacts the critical 1965 civil rights march undertaken by Martin Luther King from Selma, Alabama to the state capital in Montgomery, and has received widespread acclaim for its political and emotional resonance.

I caught up with the film's director Ava DuVernay to discuss King's legacy, her personal connection to the material and what it was like watching actor David Oyelowo transform into the iconic civil rights activist.
