After what feels like an eternity it’s now only 10 days until Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is released in Cineworld Cinemas on 15th December and we know you’re all just as excited as us about seeing the biggest movie release of the year!
Rogue One is so big in fact that the only way to truly experience the film is right here in Cineworld. Don’t believe us? Well, look below for 10 reasons why Rogue One makes for the perfect and unmissable cinematic experience.
1. It's made for the big screen
Can you say that you have really experienced a film if you haven’t seen it on the big screen? You can watch a movie these days anywhere now, but nothing beats the big screen where bigger is always better! Rogue One is a massive space adventure, so where better to experience it for the first time?
2. Surround sound
At Cineworld you will be completely immersed in a whole new world of sound where you will be able to hear every laser blast, every note of music, and every detail of Vader’s eerie asthmatic breath!
3. Michael Giacchino's music
Speaking of sound: Rogue One’s score is composed by the incredible Michael Giacchino (you probably know him best as that guy who made you cry during Pixar's UP). Giacchino’s work is extraordinary and consistently exceptional so we can guarantee Rogue One will sound as good as it looks. With film music being an integral part of the cinematic experience, we are going to be in for a treat this December!
4. You're surrounded by fellow fans
Watching Rogue One, you won’t just be watching a film: it’s an event. So where better to watch it for the first time than surrounded with your friends, loved ones, and many other enthusiastic fans just as excited as you? Why just watch the film when you can share the experience in a screen that will be jam-packed with an exhilarating atmosphere only the cinema can provide!
5. Darth Vader
You should all know by now that cinema’s favourite villain will be making his big screen comeback in Rogue One. This is huge for fans and movie-lovers everywhere. Experience the spectacle of this unforgettable rogue’s return in the place it was meant to be seen: the cinema.
6. There's a new hero to cheer for
Darth Vader is a beloved character who we cannot wait to see again, but Rogue One is also introducing some new heroes into the mix. Our central character comes in the form of feisty rebel Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), and although we don't know a great deal outside of her Death Star mission, we just know she is the new hero we have been looking for.
7. We could (potentially) be seeing some old friends...
Is there a chance some favourite characters will be making an appearance too? Rogue One takes place just before the beginning of A New Hope where Vader storms Leia’s ship.
So we know Leia is somehow involved with the events of Rogue One but does this mean she’ll make an appearance? What about Obi-Wan and R2 or even Han Solo? We’ll just need to wait and see.
8. New story, new perspective
We’ve all seen the Star Wars saga many times and could probably quote it by heart, but Rogue One is bringing a whole new side to the saga we all know and love.
Set just before the events of A New Hope, it sees the group of rebels referenced in A New Hope's title crawl stealing the plans for the Death Star. Everyone is therefore hoping that Rogue One will be an exciting mixture of the completely different and comfortingly nostalgic.
9. It's a full-on war movie
Rogue One is set to be the first Star Wars film that will feature full-on galactic warfare as Vader cements his power. We can expect a lot of action and a lot of tension in what is set to be a gritty story of rebellion against the Empire. The cinema is the only place to completely experience every intense action sequence and hard-hitting emotional moment.
10. It's Star Wars!
What else do we need to say? If ever there was a film series that was made for the cinema, it is unquestionably Star Wars. It’s larger than life in both its visuals and sound, full of intense action and heartfelt character interactions. Rogue One does have big shoes to fill in order to honour the saga, but if it’s as big as we at Cineworld believe it to be, then it cannot possibly fail!
