Last call, Pitches! Why we'll be sad to see the Bellas bow out in Pitch Perfect 3

screen-poster

Aca-believe it! It's time for the final curtain call as we bid a fond farewell to the Barden Bellas this December.

With Pitch Perfect 3 reportedly being the last time we see this current line-up of Bellas (although a fourth film hasn’t been ruled out), what better time to look back over the last five years and relive some of our favourite moments? Here's why we'll miss every single one of these awesome nerds...

1. The aca-awesome characters

It’s hard to pick a favourite, which just goes to show how much we love every single one of the Bellas. From feisty and rebellious Beca (Anna Kendrick) to the outrageous Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) and the quiet but kooky Lilly (Hana Mae Lee), the spotlight is shared between them all.

Whilst they all have their own individual quirks, it is how they unite as a group that makes them truly special. With some newbies joining the line-up in the sequel including the wide-eyed but talented Emily (Hailee Steinfeld), the Bellas have constantly evolved into the badass aca-people we know and love today.

Pitch Perfect 3 sees the Bellas back together, including their original leader Aubrey (Anna Camp), and we can’t wait to see them take the stage one last time.

2. The hilarious 'aca-experts'

Of course, it isn’t just about the Bellas – one of the highlights of the Pitch Perfect movies is the hilariously inappropriate commentary from judges Gail (Elizabeth Banks, who also directed the second movie) and John (John Michael Higgins).

The good news is they’re back and sassier than ever in Pitch Perfect 3. Expect out-there remarks, casual sexism, and of course outrageous laughs – we wouldn’t have them any other way.

3. There's more puns than you can shake an aca-stick at

Aca-scuse me? The Pitch Perfect movies have given us countless quotes so far, and you can expect more of the same in the third instalment. What other franchise could give you as many creative uses of 'aca, introduce you to "horizontal running", and of course make you gasp at every ludicrous thing Lilly says?

It isn’t all about the songs, the quotes are just as memorable and this is a part of what makes it so great. "Crushed it."

4. The Bellas are unstoppable

In the first film, after becoming the laughing stock when a big performance goes 'sickeningly' wrong, the Bellas came back fighting with a new look, a new sound, and proved everyone wrong.

Similarly, the second film saw them facing humiliation in front of a presidential audience, but instead of bowing out and admitting defeat to their polished rivals Das Sound Machine, the Bellas went back to basics and once again came out on top.

Facing problems at every turn, ridiculed and mocked by their rivals, the Bellas represent true resilience and the strength of friendship and girl power. Now where do we sign up to be part of the gang?

5. The Bellas made us aca-believe that a cappella is cool

"Synchronized lady dancing to a Mariah Carey chart-topper" might sound lame, but the Barden Bellas made a capella awesome, and had us all wishing that we could make music with our mouths.

From the 'riff-offs' to the big performance numbers and the mash-ups that help the Bellas truly find their sound, they had us warming up our vocal chords and singing our hearts out. We can’t wait to see what show-stopping numbers Pitch Perfect 3 will deliver.
