Pitch Perfect 2 star Anna Kendrick's best movies

Just over a week to go until all you filmgoers get pitch slapped. Yes, comedy sequel Pitch Perfect 2 is nearly here, promising all the catchy music and massive laughs that we expect from a cappella girl group the Barden Bellas.

The brilliant Anna Kendrick is back to lead the cast, so what better time to bring you her five best movies?

Twilight (2008)

It’s easy to forget that Anna was with the hit supernatural romance series since the very beginning. She plays Jessica, best friend of heroine Bella (Kristen Stewart), with whom she experiences her fair share of ups and downs. Still, at least she speaks at Bella’s wedding to Edward (Robert Pattinson).

Up in the Air (2009)

Anna bagged her first Oscar nomination for this comedy-drama directed by Jason Reitman. The movie centres around George Clooney’s frequent flyer businessman, who jets around firing people, and Anna is a feisty presence as his new young protégé.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010)

Edgar Wright’s visually energetic endorphin rush of a movie is adapted from a graphic novel and features an excellent young cast. Among them, Anna stands out as the acerbic Stacey, sister to our central hero Scott (Michael Cera).

End of Watch (2012)

Despite this being a macho cop drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, Anna tempers the testosterone, bringing sensitivity and class as the former’s on-screen girlfriend Janet.

Into the Woods (2014)

Anna demonstrates her impressive vocal range in this Stephen Sondheim musical adaptation, one that mashes up various fairy tales to playful effect. The actress plays lovelorn Cinderella and her performance of ‘On the Steps of the Palace’ is one of the film’s highlights.

Frankly, we can't wait to see Anna light up the screen again in Pitch Perfect 2. And good news for all you Bellas fans – booking is now open.
