The Honest Trailer for Wonder Woman is as in love with it as we are
The Honest Trailers series of web shorts can be mercilessly (but hilariously) cruel in tearing apart a movie. But every so often one comes along that even they can’t find fault with; so it is with Wonder Woman, which – and we can hardly believe we’re saying this – they actually LOVE!
Check it out below:
Watchmen heads to the small screen
It’s perhaps the greatest graphic novel of all-time, and has already been made into a box office-conquering movie by Man of Steel’s Zack Snyder, and now Alan Moore’s Watchmen is headed to the small screen.
The new HBO series is being spearheaded by Lost’s Damon Lindelof, and, well, apart from that, we know nothing. Will it be simply “inspired by” Moore’s 1986 graphic novel or will it be a straight, multi-episode adaptation?
One thing we’re sure of is that Moore himself will have zero input into the series. He’s shunned involvement in every movie adaptation of his comic-books so far, including The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, V for Vendetta and From Hell. In fact, he’s refused to even have his name credited on screen.
Even without his involvement though, the sizzling hot combination of HBO and Damon Lindelof has us super-stoked. Bring it on!
Ron Howard teases another Han Solo location on Twitter
Since Ron Howard took over directing duties on the Han Solo spinoff movie, he’s been teasing various images from the set and, well, getting us VERY, VERY EXCITED.
The latest tweet simply reads ‘Spicey’, which some fans are taking to be a reference to a line from the first Star Wars (when Han is showing off about the Millennium Falcon to Luke, he says, “It's the ship that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs”).
The Kessel run, see, is a hyperspace route used by smugglers to move spice from the mines of Kessel.
So, will we finally see that famous run after 40 years? Watch this space.
Marvel releases hard-as-nails Punisher trailer
If you’re only used to Marvel through their big screen films, you might be shocked by the Netflix corner of the MCU.
Well, the latest Marvel/Netflix team-up is nearly with us, with Jon Bernthal taking on the role of the Punisher, an uber-violent vigilante bent on revenge after the death of his family.
Check out the brutal new trailer below. It ain’t no Guardians of the Galaxy…
The real-life Raging Bull has died
Jake LaMotta, the boxer whose life was turned into an Oscar-winning drama by Martin Scorsese, died this week at the age of 95.
Raging Bull earned Robert De Niro an Academy Award for Best Actor and was an uncompromising portrayal of LaMotta’s years in the ring.
After seeing the movie, LaMotta admitted, “I kind of look bad in it. But that's the way it was... It's not the way I am now, but the way I was then.”
Is ANOTHER Fantastic Four film in the offing?
So far there have been four different Fantastic Four movies, none of which are regarded very highly by comic-book fans. The last one, 2015’s Fantastic Four, was produced by Kingsman’s Matthew Vaughn, and he’s revealed that he wants to make a new version – as a way of saying sorry for that one!
"I wouldn't mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film," he told Cinemablend, "to apologise to everyone out there that maybe it didn't go very well for them. Maybe one day I'll try and rectify the mistake."
Check out this (mercifully unreleased) version of The Fantastic Four from 1994 (if you dare)…
There’s a brand new Murder on the Orient Express trailer (with added Johnny Depp)
We’re incredibly excited by Kenneth Branagh’s star-drenched adaptation of Agatha Christie’s most famous novel. And the brand new trailer gives us our first proper glimpse of Johnny Depp’s scar-ridden gangster, the one who will end up murdered… but by whom??
Check out the A-list-heavy trailer below.
