Looking for a quick fix of all the latest breaking news? You've come to the right place. This is MovieMash.

Matt Damon crashes Chris Hemsworth's interview

American chat show host Jimmy Kimmel's beef with Matt Damon goes back years. (Don't worry – it's all a joke.) It gained international recognition when former girlfriend Sarah Silverman delivering her rip-roaring song about having slept with the Bourne Identity star (don't worry, that was a joke too) – and now Damon doubles down on the feud by gatecrashing guest Chris Hemsworth in the midst of a Thor: Ragnarok chat.

The Last Jedi's porgs break the internet

Forget all the chatter about Luke Skywalker having gone to the dark side. There was only one thing that mattered in the awesome new Last Jedi trailer and that was the shot of the unbelievably cute porg at the helm of the Millennium Falcon opposite Chewbacca.

Naturally the internet had something to say about this...

Chris Hemsworth says Thor was a "bore" prior to Ragnarok

It's not often you get a major star speaking out against their signature character, but The Hems wasn't holding back on the criticism this week.

The actor admits his enthusiasm for the Asgardian god was waning somewhat, only for Ragnarok director Taika Waititi to reignite that spark with a dose of quirky, offbeat humour.

"Taika Waititi, the director that came in, is a genius and has such a left-of-centre, wildly odd sense of humour," says Hemsworth. "He said: 'I don't ever want to hear 'Loki' and 'this madness' again.' And I said: 'No, I'm done. I've said that a thousand times.' And so anytime something felt familiar, we'd go the other way, throw it out of the window and start again. We may have pushed it too far; I don't know. But it was a hell of a lot of fun and it's going to be vastly different and unique to what we've done before."

Hemsworth adds: "That was our plan. To destroy him, destroy his world and everything he knows and everyone he loves, and just reinvent it. He happens to be on a planet where everyone else is pretty damn powerful too. So he's kind of a regular guy in that sense. No one gives a damn if he's the prince of Asgard or whatever. It doesn't mean anything on this planet. We wanted to strip all that back and make him more relatable. I had also gotten kind of bored with how I was playing it. I wanted to do something different."

The New Mutants trailer is here

The X-Men timeline takes another dramatic swerve with Josh Boone's action-packed origin story arriving on 13th April 2018.

The Fault In Our Stars director adapts Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod's fan-favourite comic strip, one that first arrived in 1982 and focuses on an adolescent group of mutants away from the main X-Men contingent.

Boone whipped fans into a social media frenzy by teasing the arrival of the first trailer at 00:01am on Friday 13th October and he lived up to his promise.

This looks like a far darker, horror-inflected extension of the bestselling comic book franchise with a super-talented cast including Split's Anya Taylor-Joy, Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams and Stranger Things' Charlie Heaton. Check it out below.

Awesome fan trailer pits Deadpool vs The Punisher

What's Frank Castle's greatest fear? After all, there aren't many enemies stronger than he is. Perhaps Jon Bernthal's bruising mercenary would come undone when faced with the sheer madness of Ryan Reynolds' quip-happy superhero prankster – and now our prayers have been answered with this awesome trailer mash-up.

A fake promo for the Netflix movie we so desperately deserve right now, this video interweaves two classic Marvel characters who have never crossed paths before. Full credit to YouTuber stryder HD – watch it right here.
