Here's some Keanu Reeves news to make you go "woah" – or, if you've seen Toy Story 4 already, "caboom!" It turns out the star, who is singlehandedly dominating summer 2019 with the aforementioned Toy Story and John Wick 3, is in talks for a Marvel movie.
Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has confirmed he's in talks with Reeves for a potential role. The exact details aren't forthcoming, but the mind boggles at the thought of the Matrix, Speed and John Wick actor potentially cutting loose alongside the likes of Spider-Man.
"We talk to him for almost every film we make," Feige told ComicBook.com. "I don't know when, if, or ever he'll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it."
Feige then drew comparison with the casting of Jake Gyllenhaal in Spider-Man: Far From Home, released on 2nd July. The Nightcrawler actor plays Mysterio opposite Tom Holland's Spidey, and Feige says Gyllenhaal's casting only came about after they talked to him "multiple times".
So is this a process of attrition, whereby so many roles will be thrown at Reeves before he commits, or his schedule allows it? Either way, we're seriously on board.
In the meantime, you can enjoy Reeves in Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 4, where he makes a delightful appearance as anxiety-wracked Canadian stunt-rider Duke Caboom. The movie is on release now – click here to book your Toy Story 4 tickets.
