5 reasons why we love Jurassic World star Chris Pratt

Following his show-stopping appearance last Friday on the Graham Norton show, it's safe to say that  Jurassic World star Chris Pratt swiftly became the best friend that everyone wants to have.

So with the movie roaring onto our screens this Friday, we've rounded up our five reasons why we love Chris so much. From accents to stunts, these are hilarious highlights of the megastar-in-waiting. Everything is indeed awesome.

He's a vocal champ

Chris' appearance on Graham Norton's couch was crammed with brilliant moments. But none were better than this, when he demonstrated his uncanny ability to channel the members of TV show The Only Way is Essex. We're used to hearing Americans mangle even the most standard English accent. That Chris was able to get a regional dialect so accurately – and make it hilarious at the same time – is hugely impressive. As further proof, just watch the stunned faces of sofa cohorts Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law and John Bishop.

He's ahead of the curve

Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans caused controversy on the Avengers: Age of Ultron press tour for saying things they perhaps shouldn't have. Then Chris comes along and turns the scenario on its head. In advance of his promotional duties for Jurassic World, Pratt made a pre-emptive apology for anything he said that could be construed as offensive. Here's what he said on his Facebook page:

"I hope you understand it was never my intention to offend anyone and I am truly sorry. I swear. I’m the nicest guy in the world. And I fully regret what I (accidentally will have) said in (the upcoming foreign and domestic) interview(s)."

It's a lighthearted joke but a sharp and well-aimed one too.

He's a great sport

You might think given he's the lead in Jurassic World that Chris Pratt had boned up on his dino knowledge. But in an appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show, Chris was completely outmatched by a young boffin less than half his age. However, being the great guy he is, there was no hint of competitiveness, Chris instead revelling in the moment and allowing his opponent to storm to victory. Isn't that sweet?

He does his own stunts

Chris ain't just a funny guy. He's also committed to the more physical aspects of acting, as this brilliantly funny behind the scenes Jurassic World video demonstrates. His impressive abilities include leg stretches and, err, lunges. And he can (apparently) reach 65mph whilst sprinting away from the camera. Who knows, maybe he can provide the motion capture movements for a Velociraptor in a future movie?

He can belt out a tune

Back to Graham Norton. When discussing the ever popular subject of first jobs, Chris unexpectedly found common ground with our own John Bishop, revealing that he'd been a coupon salesman. Not only that – like Bishop, Chris revealed that he'd amp up his own adrenaline levels by singing a motivational chant before heading to work. (Warning – contains some strong language.) And if you want further evidence of his singing abilities,  click here to watch Chris' epic take on Eminem's 'Forget About Dre.'
