After watching Central Intelligence last year, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Hart automatically became our new favourite movie team.
But since the trailer dropped for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle a few weeks ago, we’re even more convinced this friendship is forever. Completely different in acting styles (Johnson is well known for being an action hero after his wrestling career, while Hart is more of a funny guy) and height, these two complement each other like peanut butter and jelly.
Even though they imply they really hate each other, with the evidence we’ve found, you can tell these two love each other like best friends do deep down. This is why we absolutely adore these two.
Their impersonations of each other are perfect
Johnson has proven he’s just as naturally funny as his co-star. This video demonstrates how hilarious the pair can be, by interviewing each other… as each other. Of course these impersonations are to the extreme, but only a real friend can perfectly crack your perfections and flaws in an impression. Try watching this without laughing.
Kevin Hart's acceptance speech
Hart’s acceptance speech for winning Favourite Comedic Movie Actor at this year’s People’s Choice Awards for The Wedding Ringer, mentions Dwayne Johnson:
"Last but not least, all of the co-stars that I've had in my life that helped me grow in this business. I appreciate you all; I'm definitely able to do what I do because of the help that I've had on camera. So, this one goes to all the co-stars that I've had except for The Rock, because he hasn't helped me. You've actually lessened my talent; it's gone down since you've been in my life."
Before the camera turns away, we glimpse how Johnson reacted to the speech. They must love each other really, as they're reuniting for Jumanji.
No chemistry. None at all
They might be good at acting, but there’s no fooling us these two aren’t true BFFs. Just look at this picture.
Kevin's incredible impression of Dwayne
These two seem to enjoy mimicking each other on a daily basis.
We bring you this behind the scenes footage of the shoot on Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Dwayne might say he’s only trying to annoy Kevin, but isn’t that was friends, especially those who act like brothers, do? Winding each other up seems to be a recurring theme throughout this list of reasons we love the pair, a true sign of real friendship.
Everything is a competition
Both Johnson and Hart are huge film stars in their own right, so being co-stars causes a natural competition over who is more famous, more tough and most of all, who has the best transport throughout London.
The best thing about this bickering session is what each vehicle implies about each of the actors. The Rock has a huge London bus; Kevin Hart has a London cab.
They even compete over their fan base
Both of these guys adore their fans, almost as much as they clearly adore each other. Being big names, it’s no surprise they have an equally big and passionate fan bases.
But whose fans are the best? Neither The Rock nor Kevin Hart know, but they each created a video for their fans while the other interrupted.
A lil' glimpse of the chemistry that's coming this summer.. "F*ck your video!" #CentralIntelligence Onset shootin' w/ my brotha @kevinhart4real and we're havin' a blast as always - hangin' 50ft in the air.. #HesTalkinShitCauseHeKnowsICantReachHim #JustWaitTilWeGetDown #SlappinThePissOuttaYou #WeCanNoLongerFeelOurBallsInThisHarness #GetReadyWorld #ActionComedyPower #CentralIntelligence SUMMER 2016.
We can’t wait to see more of these two bicker and promote their new film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, out on 20th December.
