We're creeping ever-closer to the return of dreaded clown Pennywise in IT – and the first reactions are now in.
By the sounds of it Bill Skarsgard's interpretation of the classic Stephen King monster is one for the ages, promising to inject a genuine dose of fear into your early autumn season. Here's what Collider journalist Haleigh Foutch has to say.
I love the #ITMovie. It's everything I wanted. Scary as shit, Skarsgard nails Pennywise, and the Losers are perfection.

Yet as anyone who's read King's book knows, this isn't just a horror tale but also a coming of age story about a group of young kids coming to terms with their own fears. Writer Anthony Breznican says director Andres Muschietti nails this aspect of King's story.
Beyond killer clowns, IT also delves into the grief & anger kids feel when they realize those who should love & protect them do the opposite

Another Collider journo says the aforementioned Losers Club (comprising, among others, Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things) are the life and soul of this new adaptation.
#ITMovie is everything I hoped for & more. Has heart, laughs & TONS of incredible scares. Fell in love w/ The Losers. Didn't want it to end.

MTV News editor Crystal Bell singles out relative newcomer - and potential scream queen – Sophia Lillis for praise. She plays Losers club member Beverly Marsh, one of the kids who must band together to defeat IT.
IT made me cry (and not out of terror). It's funny, moving, and of course scary. The kids were EXCELLENT, esp Sophia Lillis. I loved IT. pic.twitter.com/LHb3Zi5zys

And finally, we'll leave it to another Collider writer, Mark E. Reilly, to sign off with this appropriately spine-tingling teaser.
Saw #ITMovie I loved it.

Then took trash out in my empty, dark, stairwell...
