Superheroes and singing lions not your choice of blockbuster? Good news: popcorn-munching spectacle of an altogether more deliciously creepy kind is on offer in IT CHAPTER TWO. The movie is released in Cineworld cinemas on 6th September, and is poised to be one of the biggest horror hits of the year.
In 2017, the big screen adaptation of the first half of Stephen King’s novel broke box office records to become the most successful horror movie of all time. As the adult Losers prepare to battle the evil Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) in the second instalment, expectations are sky-high.
IT CHAPTER TWO sees the Losers Club return to their hometown of Derry, Maine as adults in order to destroy the evil being known as Pennywise. The sequel jumps 27 years ahead, so IT CHAPTER TWO interweaves a bunch of famous adult faces with flashbacks to the actors playing the younger Losers.
We have James McAvoy and Jaeden Martell as the older and younger Bill Denbrough, Jessica Chastain and Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh, and Bill Hader and Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tozier. Plus, Jay Ryan and Jeremy Ray Taylor portray Ben Hanscom, alongside Isaiah Mustafa and Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon, James Ransone and Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie Kaspbrak, and Andy Bean and Wyatt Oleff as Stanley Uris.
Mix up those A-listers with a massive fan base waiting to see the final instalment of the IT saga, and you can be sure IT CHAPTER TWO is going to be one of the biggest cinematic events of 2019. You won’t want to miss it.
But what’s the best way to experience the horror hit? Scroll down beneath the poster to discover our tips...
1. Go with your own Losers Club
Cinema trips are the best way to catch up with important people in your life and there’s the bonus that you get to see a great film too. Horror movies, especially, are better with companions, so that you don’t have to experience being terrified on your own.
Gather your best pals and form your own Losers Club, as you prepare for your own big screen confrontation with the malevolent Pennywise.
2. Get a cinema meal
Horror movies on the scale of IT CHAPTER TWO (it’s 165 minutes long) don’t come around too often, so it’s best to make a meal of it, whether it’s to prepare you for the thrills ahead or to chew over the experience with mates after seeing the film.
If you’re a Cineworld Unlimited card holder or have a pal with one, take advantage of the restaurant discounts to save money on movie snacks.
3. Allllll the snacks
Popcorn and IT CHAPTER TWO go hand-in-clown-glove for two reasons.
One: because Pennywise likes popcorn, or at least he said he did when luring poor young Georgie down the drain at the start of the first IT. And secondly, if you get a big enough bag of popcorn, you can use it to shield your face from the jump scares – because there are lots.

4. Don’t forget to go to the toilet before
No one wants to be that person that misses essential moments from a horror film, but there’s another key reason to go to the loo before IT CHAPTER TWO starts.
The movie presents an especially grisly toilet stall scene involving Jessica Chastain and the most fake blood ever featured in a movie. We wouldn’t want you to get too freaked out with a mid-movie bathroom break…
Whether you missed IT in Cineworld the first time around, or loved it so much you want to see it again, book yourself for one of our IT Double Bill screenings.
Starting at 7pm on Thursday 5th September, you can enjoy the first instalment of the Losers Club vs. Pennywise and then witness the sequel starting at 9.40pm to see how the Losers face up to the evil entity when they’re older.
6. 4DX, Superscreen, IMAX or ScreenX
Want to experience IT CHAPTER TWO in a way that truly celebrates this huge horror event? Well, you can see the movie in 4DX, Superscreen, IMAX or ScreenX, each of which offer a range of immersive opportunities.
4DX throws a lot of atmospheric effects at the audience, in conjunction with moving seats, so you can feel the visceral impact of Pennywise’s attacks.
And 4DX, IMAX and ScreenX, the latter of which offers a groundbreaking 270 degree experience, do justice to the visual and aural wonders of the movie, bringing to life both the haunted environment of Derry and also Pennywise’s terrifying underground lair.
