Currently doing the rounds promoting his J-Law outer-space romance Passengers, Hollywood's most likeable superstar Chris Pratt (don't tell Tom Hanks) has also been prepping us on his next movie.
You may have heard of it: it's called Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and it promises to build on the pop-tastic legacy of its terrific Marvel predecessor, one of the greatest MCU movies to date.
"It’s bigger and better than the first movie in every way," EW reports him as saying. "And that’s saying a lot because I think the first movie is really good."
In particular, Pratt has nothing but enthusiasm for returning director James Gunn who steered the first movie to world-beating success.
"James Gunn is the auteur," Pratt says. "He’s the man behind Guardians of the Galaxy. He wrote the movie, he directed the movie … The first one and the second one. So this is completely his vision. In my opinion, there is no equal in Hollywood. I think he is the best I’ve worked for, and with. And I owe so much to him. Really. And, it’s him."
However if you're looking for concrete plot details at this stage, you won't get them.
"I almost don’t want to say anything," says Pratt. "I know that there’s enough interest for people to go out and see this movie … All you need to know is I cried when I read the script. It’s really, really fun, but there’s also some genuine, deep emotion that you get to see in this movie. And James Gunn, thank God for James Gunn."
Well frankly, who wants everything ruined months in advance? You go, Chris! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is released on 28th April 2017, so if it's already on your movie calendar let us know @Cineworld.
